About Me

My work explores escapism with a touch of memory and an abundance of decoration. I keenly focus on the fragile boundary between constructed fantasy and emotional reality. I work across digital processes, painting, collage influences, and pattern design. My densely layered worlds invite viewers into spaces of stillness, wonder, and psychological reflection.

I originally trained in Graphic Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, but my practice has gradually evolved beyond design into a more personal visual language rooted in storytelling and symbolic world-building. My influences range from fairgrounds, folklore, decorative arts, and fantasy imagery.

Detail plays a central role within my work. I use repeating motifs, intricate surfaces, and ornamental structures to encourage the viewer to slow down and remain within the image. Many of my works explore the tension between: beauty and unease, fantasy and truth, excess and vulnerability.

My process combines highly controlled digital composition with more instinctive physical interventions through paint and texture. I am drawn to the dialogue between precision and imperfection. This is evident in my ‘Scene Paintings’ where I layer constructed surfaces of digital imagery with hand-painted marks. This balance reflects many of the themes within the work itself including: control and surrender, permanence and fragility, illusion and humanity.

Carousel horses, theatrical spaces, patterned interiors, imagined gardens, symbolic figures, and dreamlike objects appear throughout my collections as recurring fragments of a larger visual mythology. These elements are often inspired by childhood memories, decorative traditions, personal symbolism, and the emotional pull of escapism.

My 2025 collection, Inner Worlds, marked an important turning point within my practice. The collection brought together twenty-five works exploring immersive psychological landscapes and decorative environments. Alongside this, my ongoing series The Meditation Symphonies continues to investigate stillness through Thangka-inspired compositions.

At the heart of my practice is the desire to create images that feel immersive and emotionally resonant.
